Somatic competencies for coaches: Somatic Practices in Online Coaching

In the virtual space, it’s easy to default into stillness — sitting in one place, eyes on the screen, engaging mostly through words. But coaching doesn’t need to be (and arguably shouldn’t be) a purely verbal process.

This experiential 90-minute workshop invites you to explore how movement and somatic practices can bring more aliveness, depth, and presence into your online coaching sessions.

We’ll explore how specific movement-based tools can support different emotional, cognitive, and physiological states — both for you and your clients. You’ll learn simple but powerful techniques to shift energy, enhance engagement, and support regulation, even within the constraints of a screen.

This session is designed to be playful, practical, and immediately applicable. You’ll walk away with:

  • Somatic tools to increase your own vitality and presence while coaching online

  • Practices to support deeper client insight and embodied learning

  • A refreshed, enlivened sense of what’s possible — even in a Zoom room

Whether you're new to somatics or looking to deepen your skill set, this workshop will expand your coaching toolkit in meaningful and tangible ways.

This workshop forms part of the broader Somatic Competencies for Coaches programme, but can be attended as a standalone session.
